Title to come soon, by Myra Anderson

Beautiful piece of art. The colors are vivid and work well together. This is part of a collection purchased from one of my favorite artists. The frame is a $1.91 thrift store find.

Oh, what to do, what to do.....I am still awake!

Haven't a clue how to update the time, but it is 20 til 1 a.m.

Have I betrayed a friend?

Dear Friend - This is not just a greeting. Do not feel betrayed. Why the new title after today's discussion? It was J's idea to do this. It was either 1) Sipping Tea or 2) Oh Snap! Also, after having the lg. soy cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso today, I felt I was in trouble. For instance, I reorganized my office when it did not need to be organized, purposely squatted to pick up several reams of printing paper and move them to the highest shelf, walked around aimlessly just to shake off the jitters and worst of all it is almost midnight and I feel like doing laundry! This is my wake up call. So farewell to my caramel latte's, cafes con leche and more. Hey, how about I blog about the drinks that I miss. For example, I really love to drink my cappuccinos this way: sprinkling cinnamon and adding half and half. When I could not get out of the house to buy a cappuccino, I would try and make one with the microwave: zap a cup of milk in the microwave, enough time to make it frothy, then add a teaspoon of instant Italian espresso.

1, 120, 6x8

Based in Dallas, TX, the One-Two-Oh! is a small but growing art club. We will share what is happening at our club - ideas, upcoming and finished projects, challenges and our oops, what we are talking about and what we are currently obsessing over. Artist MA is focused on apples, Artist JR is obsessed with pears, Artist CB is having fun with a charcoal drawing. Our main goal is to have fun!

How not to make Tamales

This is my second failed attempt at making tamales. These are Juan's hands trying to be helpful. The masa is supposed to be applied and spread with a spoon. I was busy making the pork filling and I glanced over to look at what he was doing. His face was so serious trying to be helpful, and I couldn't correct him. This was way cute, I had to take a photo. After five of these wonderful pieces of art, I then showed him how to apply it with a spoon, and he replied "but it is also sticking this way." So what can you do? I just left them this way. We had lots of fun!

Unfortunately they do not help with the laundry.

Thrift Store Find.

I enjoy looking for frames at thrift stores. This small painting cost .99 cents and the rectangular frame .60 cents. They are temporarily hung by clear push pins next to the "Myra Apple" piece. These will eventually be centered and hung with nails. I think these are pretty cool finds because both frames look very similar.

The art studio table.

Our first table. This is a butcher block table that had split in half. Since Juan and I have been learning how to be handy, he glued the table together and repaired it. I used to take care of it from time to time by rubbing mineral oil on it, but since it has been kept under the bed for the past year, I just forgot about it. So what motivated me to take the table out? Actually, it's "Who motivated me? My dear friend encouraged me to start painting again. I saw her cute studio and all of her paintings and wanted something like that too. So here it is, the start of my studio with this very old table.

Sanding floors with Chanel.

I am exhausted and impressed with how much we accomplished. We sanded four rooms all by ourselves. Tomorrow my body will feel the pain. Did you know there are three stages in sanding floors? Each stage requires three different heavy machines and each stage needs three runs with coarse, medium and then fine grit paper. Chanel kept us company, it was nice having her with us.

1st or only sketch. Busy piece, so should I use only three colors or also use many colors?

Untitled. Pencil sketch on post-it.

This is my favorite painting. I am glad it is where it is - the kitchen.

"Myra Apple" by Myra Anderson. Oil on canvas. Hung with velcro tape against stark white subway tile. I love everything about it - the square canvas, the calming soothing colors and the brush strokes.

Meet Coco Chanel, my boxer. She's just under a year old.
